Gringo Starr

Originally from Los Angeles California, Gringo Starr AKA Chris Rosales moved to Switzerland in 1994. A few years later he was offered a spot playing with Monsters front man and Voodoo Rhythm record label boss Beat-Man. Lightning Beat-man and his backing band, ‘The Never Heard of ‘Ems’ made one full length LP at the now infamous ‘Toe Rag Studios’ in 1998. ‘Apartment Wrestling Rock and Roll’ also includes cuts from the ‘Sonic Nightmares’ underground radio show from Bern, Switzerland that Chris also co-hosted for several years during the mid-nineties. In late ’98 Beat-Man injured his back during an on-stage wrestling match during which time Chris co-founded Bern’s first Northern Soul band The Super Supers. They released a 7′ four song EP on Voodoo Rhythm entitled ‘Mama Soul’ in late 1999. As the new millennium dawned Chris joined forces with ex Miracle Workers Gerry Mohr and Robert Butler(also a ‘Never Heard of ‘em) to form ‘The Get Lost’ , a high energy fuzz-garage massacre with heavy ‘Miracle Workers’ and ‘Morlocks’ influences. Simultaneously the three also played as Beat-Man’s backing band, The Unbelievers in his new incarnation as the Reverend Beat-Man. Both bands were back in the studio together in 2001 at Toe Rag in London. Those sessions gave the world, ‘Get On Your Knees’ from The Reverend Beat-Man and ‘Never Come Back’ from The Get Lost. Chris is currently playing with The Jackets featuring Jack Brutsche from ‘The Fox’ and The Mad Cowgirl Disease.
