The Sonic-Nightmares Gang

Damn, I can’t even remember … when did we first start our show on the local Radio “RaBe” in Bern?
Hmmm …. must’ve been ’round 1995. It was great – and free! We just had to go to the Studio every (other) week and play the Sounds we like, make prank-phonecalls, and freak out. Sometimes Beat-Man would  take his guitar along and sonically trash the studio. And twice (?) a month we did “Sonic Insomnia”, playin’ music allnight long, untill we fell asleep in the studio. Yes and for the record: We kept the rules of the Radio-Station: We never smoked or drank in the RaBe-Studio, HAHAHAHA.

For old-times sake & because it’s the best local Radiostation we’ve got in Bern / Switzerland:

Then came a time, when the Radio-Station decided, that they need more money, and so everyone doing a show on RaBe, had to pay a little fee per Radio- hour. It was really a reasonable price … still … guys like us can’t even afford to pay attention, so … the show stopped, somewhere around the end of the millenium (?).

Years later Gringo Starr and Reverend Beat-Man hooked up with Kopper’s “Garagepunk.com” and started the show again – but this time without any “Studio-restrictions”. From there forth the show was (and is) a Podcast. Yes sure – being “in the air” is a unique feeling … then again: having a Podcast just really broadens the (possible, hahaha) audience. And: We can finally get loaded on Smokes and Booze, without beeing afraid to ruin any expensive Studio-equipment!

Gringo and the Reverend did quite a bit of great shows all by themselves before Brother Panti-Christ and El Tiki joined in again. And allready the first show of the “Quattro infernale” revived the old chaotic spirit of our Live-Shows, even if it ain’t live (Thanks Gringo Starr for cutting the shows together so neat and tight – and yes: “Let’s do this again”, hahaha

Basically that’s that … now: Go listen to the shows, and hear how low-fi y’all can go

For new-times sake, and because  it’s a really great Underground-Music-Network:

Thank you for the Hide-Out, Kopper, for providing (all of) us with such a great playground
… keep kickin !
